Global News Reported that a pedestrian was killed and two others were injured in three separate accidents in Scarborough. Just after a 20 p.m. on Friday, a pedestrian was struck on Howden Road, north of Lawrence Avenue East and West of Birch Mountain Road. Two other pedestrians were struck in two separate accidents and their condition was reported to be serious. The pedestrian was hit at the intersection of McCowan Road and McNicoll Avenue. The woman, in her 60s, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. Another pedestrian was struck by vehicle at the intersection of Orton Park and Ellesmere Road. That pedestrian was also taken to hospital by paramedics.
Toronto police Chief Mark Saunders reported late Wednesday evening that 50 pedestrians in 2019 have died after being hit by vehicles.
