Of all the various ways that vehicle accidents occur in Ontario, head-to-head collisions are probably the worst and most horrific. The combined speed and force of head-on impacts often leads to terrible life changing injuries and in some occasions death. For example, if two cars are traveling towards each other at 80km/hr, a head-on collision will have a force of 160 km/hr when the two automobiles hit. As you might imagine, there is a significant difference between striking another vehicle or object at 80km/hr and striking one at 160 km/hr.  Survival rates start to plummet if involved in any accident over 75/km an hour.

Causes of Head-On Collisions

From our experience, when head-on car collisions occur, something had to have gone horribly wrong.  While some of the head-on accidents happen between lanes and others find both cars in one lane, at least one driver has to be out of position.  In addition, more often than not, there will be one driver that is or is suffering from:
