The Burlington Dads group is not just a club – but a private Facebook group, recognized by Burlington’s mayor, that has grown into nearly 4500 dads since 2016. It is a private group that has raised thousands of dollars for fellow members when jobs were lost, families in financial need after losing a loved one and for various Burlington community organizations. The donations at this point are incalculable.

Even more amazing is that this group is there for each other if any other member needs a helping hand – no more scouring the internet for the right accountant or contrator and 100% of the time – there is friend to help at your door within hours when you need it, whether it’s with an extra part for something you need or a hand to help move something. The group supports each other’s businesses, has weekly giveaways within the group, promotes local businesses and the Burlington community in general.

We are happy to say that as a giveback to the group, we are donating a full estate plan a month, either to a single Dad of the group, or a couple, from now until December 31st 2020 as a thank you for helping our community.

Hamilton Health Sciences

Lalande Personal Injury Lawyers is proud to be a Hamilton General Hospital and Regional Rehabilitation Centre donor. The Hamilton General Hospital is one of the top trauma and cardiac centres in the province. The Hamilton General Hospital also houses one of the best cardiac surgery programs in Ontario. It performs the largest number of cardiac catheterizations and angioplasties and treats the highest volume of heart attack patients in the entire province. The General is also home to the largest integrated stroke program in Ontario and the second busiest burn program in Ontario. It is home to one of only two adult regional burn centres in the province.

The Hamilton General Hospital & Regional Rehabilitation Centre

Interested in some additional amazing facts? The hospital has one of the province’s few rooftop heliports and is a Level 1 trauma centre for injured victims. The Hamilton General Hospital is also home to the Regional Rehabilitation Centre, which provides intensive therapy for patients recovering from a stroke, acquired brain injury, amputation, or spinal cord injury.

Many personal injury victims who are catastrophically injured are admitted to the Regional Rehabilitation Centre, where they benefit from expanded programs in a fully accessible state-of-the-art healing environment. The unit bridges directly to the hospital and its onsite patient resources, including an office of the Canadian Paraplegic Association, a pool, outpatient and occupational therapy clinics, and an outdoor therapeutic track, which is one of a kind in Canada.

We are proud to give to such a wonderful institution and Lalande Personal Injury Lawyers plans to continue donating each and every year.

Spinal Cord Injury Ontario

Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (SCI Ontario), formerly known as Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario (CPA Ontario), is an organization whose mission is to help people with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities achieve independence, self reliance, and full community participation.

A spinal cord injury, whether traumatic or non-traumatic, complete or incomplete, is a catastrophic injury with potentially devastating impacts. These include far-reaching physical, social, and psychological consequences.

From a traumatic perspective, while other types of injuries are more likely to result in death, spinal trauma can lead to life-changing disabilities that can permanently alter a person’s physical wellbeing and make what was once routine nearly impossible. These injuries can result from a wide variety of accidents and trauma, such as car accidents, falls, motorcycle accidents, trucking accidents, and trip-and-falls. Conversely, about 30 percent of all SCIs are non-traumatic, resulting from disease or pathological influence, congenital SCI, infections, ALS, MS, and the like.

SCI Ontario is an organization that helps individuals with spinal cord injuries by providing information on how to develop optimal resilience and a better quality of life, understand the rehabilitation process, and better self-management with appropriate care. SCI Ontario has sixteen offices across the province that provide quality-assured programs and services, including Peer Support, Regional Services, and Advocacy Programs.

Lalande Personal Injury Lawyers are proud to be a Spinal Cord Injury Ontario sponsor, and we look forward to sponsoring SCI’s fundraising events. For more information, please visit http://www.sciontario.org.
