CHCH reported late yesterday that QEW eastbound was closed due to a horric and deadly hit-and-run car accident bear Beamsville. Sgt. Kerry Schmidt described it as a “horrific scene”. A young man from St. Catharines exited his vehicle after a minor single vehicle crash and was hit by other vehicles which all failed to remain at the scene. The young man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have learned that one of the vehicles was a beige or light-coloured Hyundai or Kia sedan and that the car will have quite a bit of damage to the front. OPP also state that the driver will no doubt know that he or she hit something and ask them to come forward.
