The St.Catharines Standard reported that a 23-year-old Hamilton man seriously injured in a head-on crash this week on Highway 6 near Caledonia has been identified as Jacob Hodge by friends and family. Mr. Hodge was critically hurt and placed into an induced coma with serious brain injuries in the intensive care unit at Hamilton General Hospital. Haldimand OPP said the crash happened on Highway 6 South near Caledonia. A southbound SUV, driven by a 40-year-old woman, appears to have veered into the oncoming lane, and struck .Mr. Hodge’s vehicle head-on. Police said the Mr. Hodge was trapped in his vehicle and was unresponsive. He had to be extricated by firefighters at the scene before he was rushed to hospital. Hodge suffered severe brain injuries and has undergone two surgeries so far and has a number of other injuries. Mr. Hodge and his and his wife Cayla had just purchased their first home in Caledonia and were in the process of taking possession of their new hour when the head-on crash happened, said Brandy Palamar, Cayla’s friend since childhood.
