Global News reported today that a passenger of a car was airlifted to hospital on Thursday morning after the driver of a vehicle struck a pole, a pedestrian and caused another car accident, in Whitby. The accident happened at the intersection of Thickson Road South and Consumers Drive around 9:49 a.m. Durham Police reported that a Saturn automobile was travelling southbound on thickson, when it swerved to avoid a crash with a northbound vehicle that was started to make a left hand turn. The Saturn lost contol, and crashed into a traffic pole, and also struck a pedestrian before stopping. The pedestrian was thrown into another vehicle. The driver of the Saturn was rushed to hospital and his passenger was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre.
