Protester hit by Transport Truck in Burlington dies

The Toronto Star reported to day that a woman in her 60’s was reportedly struck and killed by a transport truck outside the slaughterhouse in Burlington. The truck accident happened around 10:00 am this morning. The accident occured outside of Fearmans Pork meat processing facility at Appleby Line and Harvester Road. It is reported that a female protestor was trying to feed the pigs inside the transport truck while it was still moving when she was struck and killed.  The plant has a history of public protesting outside. If anyone witnessed the accident or persons with dash-cam footage to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065.
